I was really surprised by the size and professional organization of FOSS.in 2006 in Bangalore. Despite the rapid growth of the IT sector in India there appears to be very little awareness of Open Source software. I was very impressed by a project to run a debian-based distro on high school computers in the state of Kerala and a variety of projects to localize free software. |
